(More customer reviews)We use this product in our Sacristy to remove wine/lipstick stains from our church linens.Twice I ordered this product from Amazon; both times I was sent a different version of the product I ordered.The Pears soap I ordered was to be "the original transparent soap," which was manufactured in England.The version sent to me by both Amazon suppliers was manufactured in India for the Pears Company in England.(Note:The version sent does not include "the original transparent soap" on its packaging.)I believe the soap will do as it has done in the past for us, but I really am disappointed in the credability of these two suppliers.

(More customer reviews)After trying many "eco-friendly" products, especially dish liquids, I was becoming very disappointed.I was so chemically sensitive, I would often feel bad for the rest of the day if I spent much time in contact.The skin does absorb the chemical ingredients.I eventually figured out that the SLS or SLES(anything with lauryl or laureth or similar terms) were the ingredients that were making me spacy and fatigued.And they are right in there in many of the so-called healthy alternative detergents!

One company, Seventh Generation, uses flowery, eco-obfuscating language;they never tell you that their product actually contains sodium laureth sulfate (similar in structure to sulfuric acid), the cheapest of sudsing agents, which is found in almost all "mainstream" personal care items; dish detergent, body wash, shampoo, etc.

When I went to their website to complain, they replied that they use "a mix of functional descriptions and specific ingredients on...labels", to "allow us to refine formulas without the expense of having to reprint labels with each refinement".And just try to uncover from their website, what the actual ingredients are.I am admittedly not a computer genius (read brain fog), but it took an unreasonable amount of digging to uncover the ingredient list.

The point of my review here for Dishmate Liquid is, after I found it to be so body friendly that I could have prolonged contact without sensitivity symptoms, I decided to try it as a body wash (my skin was irritable no matter what I used to wash it).It was great!I no longer felt "bad" after taking a shower.It was only a matter of time before I tried it as a shampoo and, surprise, it doesn't hurt your eyes (as gentle as a baby shampoo), and my hair is beautiful!

I no longer buy any soaps, body washes or shampoo.I add a few drops of essential oil to diluted Ultra Dishmate as a hand and body wash.I have recommended (and gifted) this liquid to anyone I know with allergy, chemical sensitivity, or skin problems.

The best part of this is, since I have minimized contact with major sources of irritation, the entire chemical sensitivity problem has become much less prominent in my life.This Dishmate Liquid has actually improved my life!Try this.It may be a change for you too!

(More customer reviews)I am really liking this soap!! I have used it for about a month. Naturally antiseptic tea tree with the aromatic peppermint is my favorite combination. It is gentle and rinses clean. It has the right consistincy for hand soap. It's my new favorite soap!
(I had used Nature's Gate Antiseptic soap for about 4 years until they "improved" the formula, changed the name to "Purify" and made it smell like a car engine. It broke my heart!!!)

(More customer reviews)There are three BIG things that REALLY trouble me about this brand. And I can safely say that I've used them ALL. At one time, there was not much as far as choices, but FAR better sellers have come on the market. Here's my issues:

1 - Terribly inconsistent quality. I've gotten nice ones and others that I almost threw away. I had to pick human or animal hairs (I think both) and dirt out of one box. One time they were nice, clean and dry, another time they were totally gross and gummy. Obviously they are packaged overseas and quality control is horrible. Guess that's the result of cheap labor and less than clean working conditions. I believe they are also subject to being stored or shipped improperly. That may be why I've gotten such sticky "clumps" of soap nuts at times. Being sealed in cellophane may cause condensation build up. I don't know and I don't really care. I simply won't buy them anymore, have found a much better and reliable seller.

2 - Very UN-"GREEN". The cellophane bags, VERY heavily glossy printed boxes (don't think it is recycled), printed EVERYTHING! I thought soap nuts were a part of the green movement. Carbon footprint is something we look at. ALL my friends share this same sentiment. It's like a slap in the face. We are trying SO hard to live greener lives, and these are packaged like this????? It's like they don't care at all.

3 - RUDE!!!! Terrible, terrible, terrible service!!!! I don't even know if there is a Maggie in this company anymore. My intuition says "No", because whoever the MAN was that I called who referred to himself as the "owner" when I last talked to them spent more time bashing his competition than helping me with my VERY SIMPLE question!!! I was checking out all the main sellers to arrange a larger purchase for my church group. We were just trying to buy them cheaper. In the end, I just hung up on him - and that is not like me AT ALL. He didn't care one bit about what I wanted to know. All he wanted to talk about was why they were the best. I was astonished. Here is a QUOTE that I'll never forget, "We are the largest importer in the entire western hemisphere." LOL!!! Like I cared. My whole group only wanted a good simple price on 25 or 35 pounds. I'm really sorry, but the last time I talked to someone with a tone like this was a beer-bellied used car salesman trying to sell me on a piece of junk. Oh, I REALLY appreciated this "owner" telling me about his 1,000 pound minimum - while still bashing EVERYBODY - and AFTER - YES!!!! - AFTER - I had finally squeezed in all that I was looking for. It was unreal...

I'm giving this company TWO stars for two reasons only. They do sell soap nuts. That's one. There probably is a very cool person named Maggie somewhere that actually DID care about us and our environment. That's TWO - and that one is for her alone. Beyond that - ZIP!
