(More customer reviews)They say this is safe for the environment.I say this is probably true, given how safe it is for the bits of the environment that are stuck to my plates.You can also easily overflow your dishwasher with suds if you use too much.I experimented with various amounts and couldn't find an amount that equated to getting my dishes clean, though I did find some amounts that equated to getting suds on my floor.

(More customer reviews)While I am not happy with the packaging (see below) the dishwasher soap is actually quite good.Dishes came out nice and clean and the scent is very subtle.I wanted to find an Eco-friendly product and after reading reviews, decided to try this brand instead of the Seventh Generation.

As for the packaging, one bottle top broke off in transit and that bottle leaked all over causing the box to disintegrate on one end and wasting about half the soap.I did contact Amazon about it and they sent me label to return the top-less half bottle, which seems ridiculous.

My girlfriend turned me on to Seventh Generation after she had already done all the brand comparisons.I love that the glasses and dishes are sparkling and that they have no chemical odor, in fact no odor whatsoever.

(More customer reviews)I love Biokleen dishwash liquid.I've been using it for years.Not only does it get my dishes wonderfully clean when I hand wash, but I also use it to fill liquid soap dispensers.It's effective and gentle enough to use as handsoap.

It is also the best dog shampoo I've ever tried!I have done a lot of fostering.Dogs coming straight out of dog pound or shelter stink.Badly.Wretchedly.With most other dog shampoos, you have to bathe the dog 2-3 times to get the shelter stench out of their coats.Not so with Biokleen dishwash liquid.The grapefruit seed oil cuts through the grime and stench and leaves the dog smelling clean and the coat is soft and very, very shiny.(It's also about 1/3 the price of most dog shampoos!)

So I can buy this one product and have dish soap, hand soap and dog shampoo!

The dishes, cups, silverware came out sparkling clean. Not a spot, and even dries pretty spotless without any additional products. Definitely a good product and worth trying it out.

It washed my dishes and left them spotless and scentless. My child is extremely sensitive to perfumes and scents and this product did not bother her at all. In the past her eyes would become red and swollen when I used other detergents.I was extremely nervous about ordering this product initially because of the output of so much money on 12 bottles for a product I had never tried before.I ordered it via the subscription plan and am EXTREMELY satisified with this product. It is a GREAT price on each bottle considering that it will wash at least 60 loads when using 1 Tablespoon per load. I have soft water and use 1/2 tablespoon for each dispenser cup.

(More customer reviews)I use mostly earth friendly cleaning products in the house, and I was glad to stumble across this product. Not only is it less expensive that regular dishwasher cleaners, it works just as well if not better than them.

The packaging seemed incredibly small, about the size of a 7-11 Big Gulp cup, so I quickly poured a canister into an empty cup and brought out my Cuisinart measuring tablespoon and found that there were in fact 59 loads worth of powder (at 1 tablespoon per load), although the tared weight on the powder did exceed 2 lbs by a couple of ounces. That is not really a big deal to me, and if you're using a flatware tablespoon you'll probably get a bit more than 64 loads out of the canister.

I purposely left a dinner plate overnight with dried on cheese and a knife with peanut butter residue on it so I could test the effectiveness of this product. When they were loaded into the dishwasher with a full load this powder managed to clean the dishes spotless without using any added heat or prewashing like I normally would with a standard cleaner.

I have so far washed a few loads with this powder and every dish has come out clean except for one bowl still had one spot of dried on chili.

The canister says that if you have hard water you will need 2 tablespoons, and 1 tablespoon for soft water, and I imagine you could adjust those to get it to work just perfect for you.

Best of all, this product is Made in the USA, and it's not tested on animals and it has no animal ingredients. The plastic canister can be recycled when you are done, and it claims to have no negative effects on rivers, streams, plants, or wildlife. It has no artificial fragrance, colors, or preservatives, and it's biodegradable and Ozone safe. The Grapefruit seed and Orange Peel extracts in this product are pleasant and not overwhelming to me at all.

The only thing I would recommend to Biokleen is that they sell a cleaning products package consisting of a 2 month supply of this product along with laundry detergent, general purpose cleaner, and window cleaner, plus any other best-selling cleaners they have. Most people do not want to order a 2 year supply of this at a time, and I have to admit that is what prevented me from ordering this sooner. I wrote to them a couple of months ago suggesting this, but I have yet to see this offered at Amazon.

However, on an investigation of biodegradable "green" products, Consumer Reports wrote: (RE:) "Biodegradable" detergents. Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwashing Gel is said to break down in the environment. But the claim broke down when we found that the product contains a petroleum-derived agent that doesn't readily biodegrade. A spokeswoman said the company would remove the claim and review its product line and labeling. Biodegradability of two other detergents--Earth Friendly Product's Wave automatic dishwasher gel and Planet Ultra Dishwashing Liquid--was certified by reputable independent groups."

(More customer reviews)Let me just start out by saying that I was not expecting much from this dishwashing liquid.This is the first Seventh Generation product I have purchased after seeing their products in several stores and always feeling a bit curious.I was using Dawn and was perfectly happy with it, but recently I have been on a "green" binge and decided to try biodegradable laundry detergent and dish soap.I read reviews that said this dish liquid doesn't suds up like Dawn or Palmolive, and that it doesn't cut through the grease and leave the dishes as clean.I have to disagree.

I have always been a person who uses "too much" soap when washing dishes, so I may use more than is necessary, but I found that the dish liquid had just as many bubbles, if not more, than Dawn.I love the scent, it is nice and doesn't smell fake or chemical like some of the regular brands.I compared a glass I washed with Dawn and a glass I washed with Seventh Generation, and they looked the same.I couldn't tell the difference!I even asked my husband to give his opinion about the amount of suds in the sink compared to Dawn, and he said it looked like there were more bubbles than normal.I use gloves, so I can't comment on how soft my hands were after using it.It is much cheaper on Amazon if you subscribe and save, since I paid over four dollars for it at my local health food store.Bottom line is that I like it and I will continue to buy it.
