(More customer reviews)I picked this up because I try to be enviro-friendly and artificial scents give me awful headaches. Usually I use
Seventh Generation.

This smelled okay in the bottle, but upon washing clothes, it left a distinctly cedar scent. I am not sure of the blend of essential oils and other scents in this, but it comes off as Cedar - the fake scent as in men's cologne (which I cannot tolerate).

Also, this left a very sticky residue all over my hands. I washed my delicate shower curtain by hand in the sink, and this left a residue all over the shower curtain and my hands which took 4 washings to remove. If it is leaving this much residue, then I don't want it on my fabrics/clothing.

I emailed the company a week ago and still have not heard from customer service. Basically at this point, I wish to have a refund due to the problems I encountered.

I will happily return to using my Seventh Generation which has none of these issues.

The smell is delightful & fresh (it reminds me a little bit of the smell of bubble wand solution, not really basil) It's a concentrated form & when diluted with water (1/4 cup to 1 gallon water) can be used to clean all surfaces. My floors are absolutely gleaming since I made the switch to this - love this stuff.

(More customer reviews)I bought the 64 oz bottle of Lavender Mrs. Meyers on a whim.I thought it was expensive, but liked that it was easy on the environment. Little did I know that it would clean VERY well and leave my clothes smelling wonderful - not flowery just fresh and clean. I now think its worth every penny and rarely have to use fabric softener. I've seen the price as low at $9.99 but normally its around $15.I highly recommend it.

It was hard work to produce even the simplest consumer goods, and people saw the objects around them in terms of the time and effort taken to create them.

Now, we affiliate with belongings for more ephemeral reasons. Who can explain why we form bonds with certain products? People who couldn't run a hundred yards without vomiting up their last dozen McNuggets adore their official team jersey. People spend hours crafting withering critique that they hope will finally put those Mac or PC lovers in their place on the message board.

Perhaps Malcolm Gladwell will someday get around to showing us all the feints and tricks currently being employed to help us transcend mere customer satisfaction and embrace our possessions as we love our friends. Or perhaps, more like secret admirers, because neither The Packers nor Apple nor, I doubt, Mrs. Meyer, as companies, possess the sentience that would allow them to return our love.

Yet I adore this soap.

Perhaps we love certain objects because they do what we expect as well as something a little unexpected. Mrs. Meyer's Lavender dish soap functions as any soap would... and let's be honest, just about anything you pull off the appropriate grocery shelves is going to make suds and clean your dishes. If anything, this soap seems a little concentrated, so a little goes longer than you might think.

But it's the unique and wonderful smell that won me over... lavender, with a spicy herbal undertone I can't quite place. It's pleasing, but not overwhelming, and nothing else smells exactly like it.

If she exists at all, we can assume by her name that Mrs. Meyers is married. Too bad. Anyone capable of creating something this capable of winning the heart of someone who dislikes doing dishes and didn't particularly like lavender before now would be a fine catch. Treat her right, Mr. Meyers.

(More customer reviews)I like the basil, lavender, and geranium fragrances of Mrs. Meyer's products, but not this almost stale cut grass smell. I have some sweet pea hand soap and lotion (different brand)that smells like a stronger more floral version of the basil scent, so that is what I was expecting. Although not very cost effective for this sample package in comparison to the full size case of 6, I was glad I ordered it so I did not end up with 6 or 24 full sized products that I would end up donating. The small containers are a convenient size, thus I'm reusing them with the geranium product to get rid of the snap pea odor. I will end with a positive note that this scent cleans as effectively as the others I tried and thankfully its scent dissipates much quicker than the geranium scent.

The dishsoap is gentle on my hands. I've tried all of the scents but basil has been my favorite so far.

This soap is not a big sudser.I suggest to refrain from adding more than necessary to get more suds. A little goes a long way. I made this error when I first tried the brand and even though I rinsed my dishes well, I could taste the soap in some of the cups.I do not recommend tasting it!However, for cleaning, I give it 5-stars.

(More customer reviews)You may read reviews stating that the fragrance is too strong, NEGATIVE!!! It is very soothing and invigorating. I myself do not like overpowering fragrances...I do laundry in a frangrance free detergent and wish I could use this products laundry a HE detergent but I have an HE washer (so hope they come out with that soon). My husband who uses frangrance free everything, actually likes it and was the one to suggest I buy it and try it. I recommend the all purpose cleaner as well and for the price, despite of what others may say, it is a good deal - 1 bottle lasts me a bit over 3mths and I am a stay at home mom, with a 9mth old so I do plenty of dishes without help of dishwasher and am always aware of prices and effectiveness of a product. I LOVE IT!!!
