For serious acne of course I recommend a prescription product such as Retin-A. I am a U.S. born african woman with medium-dark brown skin.

Because so many of these products are very expensive and I hate being suckered, I had done a significant amount of research on anti-aging products before committing to Nutra-lift's Tissue Repair Formula with Matrixyl 3000. After the first use I was pleased with how smooth and radiant my skin looked, without oiliness or the slimy feeling some skin creams can leave behind. This product simply disappeared into my skin. Having combination skin, I also am subject to the occasional breakouts, which can be caused by heavy skincare products that clog my pores. I have had fewer breakouts than before using this product and have found Nutra-lift's soapless cleanser to be superior to anything else I have used. My teenage daughter also uses the cleanser and her acne was immediately cut in half. She noticed a change the very next day. Since the other two products have been so effective, I've decided to buy Nutra-lift's Acne Defense for my daughter to try as well.

After a month of twice daily use of Nutra-lift's Tissue Repair Formula, people are guessing my age to be as much as 7 years younger than I am and my skin is in terrific condition. I have been recommending Nutra-lift to my friends and family.

(More customer reviews)When it comes to beauty I believe that cleanliness is one of the most important steps along with applying SPF creams and moisturizers, drinking water and sleeping (which is hard to do since I love to read till the wee hours).Cleansing loosens dirt particles, dislodges makeup stuck in every nook and crevice or prepares the face for the new day ahead. Morning and evening ritual of face washing can be a sweet indulgence, especially when I pamper it with the fancy Komenuka Bijin rice bran powder. The container houses thirty packets and each one can provide about three or more uses, depending how much is poured out. I love to mix the pale grains into a smooth and creamy paste that caress my face with a soft flurry of gently cleaning lather.

I won't repeat the list of ingredients as each Komenuka product comes with instructions and a detailed list of exotic items.The glow my face obtains with this wash is really fabulous and there is no dryness and discomfort, in fact I look forward to washing my face and take great pleasure at the benefits I can feel and see. Without thorough cleansing, it would take about twenty five days for the dirt and build up to wear off the face, not including the dirt that would start piling up on top of the skin as it would try to slough itself off. Proper care is necessary for a harmonious relationship with our biggest organ that expresses even the tiniest nuance, joy or discord through our facial muscles and the quality of the epidermis. The tiny grains in this powder blend well with water and are portable and easy to take when traveling as no one wants to drag bottles of creams and liquids on any trip. I also recommend the shampoo and conditioner form this line as they are truly standout products that do make a difference in how my skin and hair looks and feels.

~The hand lotion is very nice.It doesn't smell very strongly and leaves my hands feeling soft for most the day.It does take a few minutes to truly soak in, but there's no greasy residue when it does.

~The emery board is a nice one, but fairly run of the mill, I'd consider it an extra for the kit, but not the highlight.

~I love the cuticle oil.It's very light weight and has really helped heal my cracked and flaky cuticles in just a few weeks.

~Finally, I save the best for last:the buffer block.I've used similar products in the past, but this is the first one I've used that actually leaves my nails so shiny that they look like I've got wet nail polish on them.Even my clear coat nail polish isn't this shiny.With me, the polish lasts about 3-5 days (depending on what kind of chemicals I'm dealing with at work), but it's a real cinch to buff it back up if I feel like it.

Basically I'd highly recommend this product to my friends, but then they'd know the secret behind my nice nails.

(More customer reviews)This lovely, high quality Sandalwood soap by Caswell-Massey is made of natural, vegetable based products. The soap is triple-milled which means that the soap is very hard and will last a long time. The lather is mild and creamy, leaving the skin lightly scented with this special sandalwood blend.

This is the larger size which is referred to as the bath soap. It is darker and has a wood grain appearance. The bath bars are larger and weigh 5.8 oz. They also carry a smaller size hand soap. It is light tan and comes in the 3.25 oz (92 g) size. I have used the hand soap as bath soap and cannot tell the difference--the scent and soap quality is the same.

Caswell-Massey's line of sandalwood products have been a favorite of mine for many years. The scent is so wonderful I use bars of this soap in my clothing drawers to infuse my clothing. While this blend may use other ingredients to create the blend the primary scent is the characteristic sweet woodsy fragrance of sandalwood.

Sandalwood is the name for a variety of trees (19) in the genus Santalum. True Sandalwood comes from Hawaii, Australia and India. The essential oil is very expensive and the quality varies according to the age of the tree and the species. It is naturally antibacterial which can assist in keeping skin clear of blemishes. The sweet woodsy aroma is calming and is used in ayurvedic medicine to treat anxiety.

Caswell-Massey is America's oldest apothecary established in 1752. They are well known for providing luxury personal care products. George Washington and John Adams figured among their early clientele.

(More customer reviews)I needed more body wash like I needed a ... well, since I'm in an early-morning non-creative funk, I'll use a worn-out cliche: like I needed a "hole in the head." Bear with me, I get better when the cob-webs are cleared from my fuzzy brain.

But when Amazon sent me a promotional, bearing the time-honored name of Dove, saying it "deeply moisturizes," I couldn't resist.Truthfully, what really sold me was the "pouf." I don't know what to do with that, but I thought I'd have fun experimenting. ... lol

My dove and pouf arrived and after a few showers, I must admit it does have zip; my body now feels like a velvet glove ... or a satin sheet? So all is happy in Sunny Cali. (I don't exactly feel "beautiful," but I got a big "lol" from this dramatic line in their product description: "Dove's mission is to widen today's stereotypical view of beauty and inspire all women to feel beautiful and take great care of themselves.")

... Mission? Yeah ... right!

I deleted one star because I think the price is too high; I could have purchased it at Target for much less. Sorry, Amazon.

P.S. To respond to one of the reviewers who wasn't pleased with the new bottle design because s/he couldn't place the bottle upside down to get the last "dregs" of moisturizing soap, here's a tip that I taught my kids years ago: Just add some water to the mix and VOILA: good to the last dribble.

Anyways, I found one day, an interesting new line of natural health products from "Jason". They carry a variety of health and personal care products. After being hooked on the Aloe Vera wash for three years (2001-2004, although still hooked now and then), I decided to try their Apricot wash.

Whoa ya! The lather is generous, and quite a nice smell. Okay, guys. It's Apricot, and not Hugo Boss or Gilette stuff, but this is better for you. Naturally based, and with a large, long lasting pump tub for the shower, it's one of the best products to jump on the scene. I prefer a manly scent like mint, or cinnamon for washes, but there's nothing wrong with the non-overpowering smell of fresh apricots. Man, I'm glad that I quit using those garbage washes out there that smell like Windex and feel like cleaner for the bathroom (Lever 2000, Zest).

I wish that Jason's Apricot or Aloe Vera washes were more moisturizing. It's not that they don't, but they really are limited on that part. Still, after using their stuff in the shower, my skin doesn't feel dry, I feel clean, and refeshed, and for the price I payed ($9 in Walmart Toronto), it's the choice for me.
