I am a forty one year old family man that likes trucks, the outdoors, and attacking my BBQ on the weekends. Sorry, but I have to have a great steak to grill on the weekend.What can I tell you... I do not fit the bill as a eco friendly anything.I purchased Charlie's Soap because I bought silk sheets for my wedding anniversary.The manufacture recommended Charlie's Soap as really the only soap they recommend you should use with the sheets.So I gave it shot. I was actually thinking about how I was going to have to purchase this special soap just to wash the sheets.I have to say I am a believer in this soap.It has done everything that the manufacture said it would.My family has actually switch brands and purchased the powder 5 pound bucket of the stuff. So I guess you get my Wife's approval on Charlie's Soap also. Because everybody knows the household uses the soap that the Wife likes...and that is that. This soap does a great job on my dirty greasy work around the house clothes.... let's just say one of my hobbies is restoring an old 1977 Chevy Blazer. Sometimes my arms get so covered in grease that they are jet black.So my clothes get pretty dirty also. I was totally amazed on how clean my clothes came out of the wash.Never got that clean with one wash of TIDE.As for the anything in the wash actually coming out softer than when my Wife used Tide and Downey Fabric softener. I have to say we just use Charlie's Soap now and no fabric softener. ALL FROM ONE TABLE SPOON OF DETERGENT!!!Again I really do not care if this soap is better for the environment. I just care if it works. You can scorn me all you want, but I am tired of trying things that are friendly to the environment and not actually working all that well. I will give a eco friendly product a try for time to time if just simply out of curiosity.You know the deal with eco friendly stuff.. how great it will clean and how safe it is.Most of the time the product ends up in the trash as a waste of my money. I do not want to be cleaning something 2-3 times to get the same effect as using my regular product.This is not the case with Charlie's Soap. Also we have cut our laundry soap cost by over 50% and are saving even more by not buying additives such as fabric or water softeners. Now that's something I can really care about.Now my Sister is all about saving the planet and going green.I have actually turned her onto this soap.She loves it too.At least it's worth a try to get a small size of Charlie's Soap and see if it works for you.Note that you might have to wash your clothes two times to get all your old TIDE type soap put of your clothes.Once the old soap is out, then your clothes will start feeling softer.I figured out my price savings based on the price of a 5 pound bucket of Charile's soap that does 1280 loads compared to what I would have to pay with TIDE laundry soap (purchased at Walmart) to get the same amount of loads.I did not even add in the costs of fabric softener or Calgon water softener additives.The price savings for me using Charlie's soap over Tide was just under $140.Add in the cost of the additives and I would safety guess my family is saving at least $200. Another thing is that we have a two year old and a new born (two week old). We no longer have to purchase baby laundry soap as Charlie's soap fits that bill too!!!!If you are not sure if you'll like it.Do what I did and start out with a small liquid bottle of Charlie's Soap.If you do not like it, then at least you are not out anything major.Though it may just convert you like it has me.Remember to give the soap a chance... it will have to wash out all your old TIDE style soap for your clothes to feel softer without fabric softener.... though your clothes will be cleaner for the start.Another side point.. Charlie's Soap works so well that even all the old TIDE soap residue that was on the viewing window on our washer was cleaned away.Another thing... I leave very few product reviews on Amazon.I only do it if I really hate a product.... or if I really, really like it.That being said... I really, really like Charile's Soap.

(More customer reviews)While this liquid is not the end-all be-all that those who seek to make their fortunes from it would have you believe, it is a useful commodity.I used it for everything I wash for about a month.I believe it has lessened my son's low grade rash which usually exists in some form on his body.I may continue to buy this product and use it for sheets and towels and my son's t-shirts and shorts.

I do not like 18X for delicates.In fact, it has greatly increased the "dryer fatigue" of several synthetic or synthetic/cotton blend garments by allowing micro balls to form on the surface of these fabrics, in just the first usage.It is definitely best on 100% cotton items, apparently there is something that decreases surface fatigue in standard detergents (I use Tide.)I will only use it for pure cotton items from here on out.I do quite like it for towels and sheets, although it has pretty much ruined the one set of cotton/poly sheets I own.That set is now covered with micro balls and not comfortable to sleep on.If everything you own is organic cotton, you're in business with soap nut liquid!If you are a regular person with a variety of fabrics clamoring for attention from the washer and dryer, like I am, proceed with caution on anything that is all or partially synthetic.The damage might be prevented with dryer sheets, but I don't use them at all and would rather use Tide than add a dryer sheet to the 18X.

So, a mixed review from me, but overall I think it is a useful item to help neutralize skin reactions to regular detergent.It is true that laundry does emerge with a sweet smell using 18X and I am not sure how that is possible.The liquid has very little odor and if anything smells like very weak beer.Finished laundry does indeed smell very sweet and fresh.Cotton towels become extremely thirsty after a few washes in 18X, seems to clear away all detergent residue.Front loading HE washer also is cleaner after a month of 18X.

It should also be said that 18X does very little about stains when left to its own devices.I had to add Spray & Wash to every stain, those I missed had to go through again with S&W.It does deodorize well.I added OxyClean to all white loads, felt whites looked a bit gray (dingy) when I didn't.I also added some Boraxo to every load that did not get an OxyClean boost.All in all, a bit more trouble since Tide does not require any boosts except for stains, at times.No need to add OxyClean to towels & other whites with Tide.

Bottom line: without the skin rash issue, not sure it's worth the hassle.

(More customer reviews)I know this may be kind of a knit-picky thing, but when you open these bottles, the pumps face backwards. So, you are always looking at the back of the bottle. Not only did I notice this, but so did my husband and son - which shocked me!
I called the company to see if I just got a bad batch, and she said that they are all that way, but that it's a known problem. I asked her if she could send me three replacement bottles (I always bought the refills) when they manufactured the new bottles, and she refused. She even refused to let me know when they would be available.
I switched to Meyer's Hand Soap - the bottles face front and they're even a little cheaper. I recommend the lemon.

I found it when I was searching for a soap that wouldn't make my skin itch all over after a shower. I can tell you that after years and years, my sensitive skin has never once itched after I used KMF!

The soap is mild, with a neutral scent, which is a big plus. It cleans great, but doesn't leave my skin dried out. The 8 ounce bars are a bit large, but worth the wait until they shrink down to a size that's easier for us smaller-hands people.

Hugo Spearmint Handcrafted Soap (6 oz.) Review

(More customer reviews)Move over all product lines that call themselves "natural" - Hugo Naturals truly is.These are the most awesome items, each and every made with all natural ingredients - no alcohols, petroleum products, artificial colors or pseudo fragrances - of course,absolutely no parabens, not even methylparaben or propylparaben!Sorry to say that my bathroom shelf is lined with items touted as "all natural," but ingredient labels each revealed some form of paraben.

Out with those and in with Hugo!

I first tried his Spearmint soap. A delightfully refreshing soap with a subtle bit of minty zing.Rich with jojoba and shea butter it lathers to a luxurious creaminess that soothes and softens skin as it cleans.

Next, I tried it as a facial cleanser and it removed every trace of mascara that one application of my expensive cleanser doesn't touch, still leaving skin soft and smooth.

Well, I was definitely on a roll so the following day I lathered all over in the shower (yes,head to toe) and it is an amazing shampoo bar.

I'm most definitely high on Hugo Naturals!More later on the lotions, creams, scrubs, and candles!

This was my first experience with Tea Tree Oil. I found this "Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads"(50) at Trader Joe's and because I have always found anything they stock to be natural and skin friendly, I gave these a try. If you are new to Tea Tree Oil, you are in for a pleasant surprise.

These little cleansing pads was a wake-up call for my face. Exhilarating would be putting it mildly. At first whiff, I was a little taken aback, it was quite an experience. One that even may clear up any sinus condition. But once I found how good to my facethis little treasure was, I became addicted to the refreshing quality it has. After a while, my face felt radiantly clean, and have added it to my daily regiment.

"Cruelty free: no animal testing of raw materials or final product. No artificial detergents, color or synthtic perfumes."

Ingredients: Witch hazel Extract, Organic Grain Alcohol,Eco-Harvest melalecura Alternifolia(Tea Tree)Leaf Oil, organic Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil,Chamomile Oil, Organic Lavender Oil,Organic Lemongrass Oil,Chamomile Extract, Hawaiian White Ginger Root Extract,Bladderwrack Extract, Neem Seed oil.

Prices change so, check around here and if there is a Trader Joe's near you. Take shipping costs and promotioanl deals into consideration. I also see many other "Desert Essence" Products here, that I am going to check out, moisturizers, etc.

Adovia Sulfur Soap Review

(More customer reviews)I got this for my husband because his dermatologist recommended sulfur soap for his acne prone skin. Other soaps we've tried would work for a while in reducing his acne and oil on face but would overdry his skin so much that sometimes it would break out again just due to being over dried. This soap however has just enough sulfur and is gently on his skin, but has cleared up the blackheads and random zits that he had. His face is much smoother now and the oil is contained even with the long hours he works with his construction helmet. It doesn't have any fragrance and the other review said it smelled bad, but I personally don't think it's that bad at all and the smell is very subtle, it's not like I can smell it on him after he uses it. Also it's an all natural soap so I wouldn't expect it to have some artificial fragrance smell. Overall A+ for this sulfur soap.

Anyways, I found one day, an interesting new line of natural health products from "Jason". They carry a variety of health and personal care products. After being hooked on the Aloe Vera wash for three years (2001-2004, although still hooked now and then), I decided to try their Apricot wash.

Whoa ya! The lather is generous, and quite a nice smell. Okay, guys. It's Apricot, and not Hugo Boss or Gilette stuff, but this is better for you. Naturally based, and with a large, long lasting pump tub for the shower, it's one of the best products to jump on the scene. I prefer a manly scent like mint, or cinnamon for washes, but there's nothing wrong with the non-overpowering smell of fresh apricots. Man, I'm glad that I quit using those garbage washes out there that smell like Windex and feel like cleaner for the bathroom (Lever 2000, Zest).

I wish that Jason's Apricot or Aloe Vera washes were more moisturizing. It's not that they don't, but they really are limited on that part. Still, after using their stuff in the shower, my skin doesn't feel dry, I feel clean, and refeshed, and for the price I payed ($9 in Walmart Toronto), it's the choice for me.
