(More customer reviews)I am trying to use eco friendly products. But they have to work just as well as normal products.

I first tried the Seventh Generation liquid gel detergent. That was unacceptable (left white film, didn't clean).

So I was surprised that this worked well. The only warning is that I think it tends to affect aluminum things (makes them darker). It disclaims this on the packaging. Otherwise it's perfect.

I used to use Electrasol tablets so these tablets are about the same size and perform similarly.

EDIT (Aug 2009):
I reviewed this years ago before the appalling price hike. I still use this but I buy it locally until Amazon sells it directly (eligible for free shipping) for the old price.

(More customer reviews)This product "tie dies" any dark cotton items you wash in it.I couldn't figure what was going on...was it the dyer cloth I was using?Did I spill some bleach in the wash? Let me tell you, do NOT use this on dark cottons, you will have white patterns like you "tie died" it.On whites it seems to do OK. But I have ruined way too many of my black and navy cotton shirts for me ever to use this again and I bought a ten pack of the stuff. Very dissappointed in the product. Would never recommend it to anyone.

(More customer reviews)Earth Friendly Products claims that this is dishwasher detergent. I filled both cups as directed on the box and a few minutes later, water was leaking all over the floor. I opened the door and the entire bottom was filled with suds. At first, I thought my wife tried to use liquid soap again, but then remembered that I'd loaded it. We've added as little as 1 tablespoon of detergent and it still foams up.

An email to the company's customer service department went unanswered.

Also, the packaging is the kind you'd expect a box of cereal to come in. When the case arrived (yeah, I have 12 boxes), 3 of them were broken open and leaking out of the carton.

Now I have to try and return this. Or perhaps I should try doing laundry with it.

I have problem skin, oily, dry, blemish prone, very uneven skintone. This product feels wonderful to use with the very gentle exfoliating (perfect for daily use) and healing properties of Tea Tree. I gave some to my mother (56) and she has also fallen in love with the products this company has to offer. I know Zhen has cosmetic for primarily Asian women, (my mother and I are not Asian) but their skincare line is for anyone wanting beautiful skin!

(More customer reviews)D&R apparently produces two version of this product: one with and one without hydroquinone.The product I received does not contain hydroquinone, which as far as I know is the only substance that actually works.What really bothers me is that the product I received does not even list its ingredients.In addition, my first attempt at using resulted in a red spot (allergy?), but I can't tell what's causing it since I don't know what exactly is in the cream.

(More customer reviews)This cream worked wonders for me after I started using it in January 2007.I am a chronic eczema sufferer - have had it since I was a baby - and have never been able to live without super strength cortisone.Freederm's combination of the mild (1%) cortisone and anti-microbial (benzalkonium chloride) entirely cleared up all my milder eczema problem areas (face, arms, torso) and significantly improved my severe hand eczema.I was ecstatic.But when reordered, the product that came was completely different - no cortisone, no antimicrobial, totally different base.I admire Freederm's effort to make a nonmedicated cream.However, this new formulation not only doesn't work for me, it actually irritates my skin.I am baffled by Freederm's apparent decision not to offer both versions.And I also feel that it is not truthful for them to post all the glowing testimonials when the testimonials are for an entirely different product.

For fans of the discontinued medicated product, I found a great dermatologist at Stanford who recommends mixing cortisone (the lowest strength that works for you) with antibacterial cream (Bactroban - you need a prescription).Same theory and works as well as the old Freederm medicated cream.

I am not interested in all sorts of herbal mixtures. Another thing is that it tastes good. I bought another kind that was an herbal mixture just because it was cheaper, and I regretted that because it tastes yucky and that just blows it for me. It left a nasty taste in my mouth when I was done, and besides, it takes the enjoyment out of brushing my teeth: Makes me want to just get it over with and find something else more pleasant to do. But with this stuff, it wasn't like that. I could brush away and do a thorough job without feeling like I was being punished or something! I think it might have a chemical or two in there that it doesn't really need - like, it's not 100% organic, apparently. But at least it doesn't have aspartame or anything really noxious like that! So I give it five stars.

(More customer reviews)After much trial and error, I have found two aftershave lotions worth recommending and Burt's Bees Bay Rum Aftershave is my favorite. Like my second choice, C.O. Bigalow Apothecaries' Bay Rum Aftershave, Burt's appears to be made one batch per year - around the hollidays. By August both brands seem to be only available on Ebay or, at a rare, occasional, toiletry chain store where the uninitiated have passed them by.

Burt's has a spicy, 'pirate-like' punch. It is a light, crisp balm with the bay rum standing out from the highlights. It makes my skin feel good and it has that manly scent that we are all looking for!

Bigelow's Bay Rum Aftershave is a light, creamy balm with a refreshing scent. While Bigalow's is bay rum scented, it is balanced with other highlights that give it a really clean, metro finish.

If you're a bay rum freak, you will want to keep both brands on hand.

January 2010 update - I'm now using Burt's Bay Rum Aftershave exclusively.It is the best!

Kirkland Signature 2x Ultra Laundry Detergant 170 Oz., 110 Loads Review

(More customer reviews)We've tended to use Tide as our laundry detergent. Consumer Reports says it's one of the best and we agree. It's been an excellent detergent, without question. However, we belong to one of those warehouse store organizations and their competing product is Kirkland Signature Ultra Laundry Detergent. It's much cheaper than Tide, and that provides an incentive to try it. In addition, one month they gave us an extra two-dollars-off coupon and that proved to be just too much to resist. We tried it, we liked it, we've been using it ever since.

Detergents would be very hard for an individual to judge. There are no adequate controls on any home testing experiment. It would probably be best to look at Consumer Reports judgments and then see if it fits your own needs and observations. That's difficult too. I guess the bottom line is, are you satisfied with using this product? In the case of Kirkland Signature Detergent, the answer is yes. Completely. Would you ever go back to Tide? Sure, but it costs a lot more and I have no reason to believe it will perform any better. So, what does one do? Me? I buy the Kirkland Signature Detergent. Why would I join a warehouse store if I didn't take advantage of their products and prices?

(More customer reviews)I have used noxzema on and off for years.I just started using it again last winter when my skin became too dry from using soap.It doesn't dry out my face when I cleanse with it.I love the menthol in it and it wakes me up in the morning shower.My face feels so clean after I use it because of the menthol in this product.It is great on sunburns too!I think every house should have a jar of this on hand for both sunburn and cleansing the face. I am only giving it 4 stars though because while I love using it, it doesn't perfom any miracles or anything.It just is a nice simple inexpensive product.
